On Saturday 27th September, the Fargo Systems team swapped the office for oars as we took to the water for the Ipswich Dragon Boat Challenge – and what a day it was.
Taking to the river as Team Far-row, our crew of Antony Hayes, Paula Bennett, Nasima Begum, Sarah Hailwood, Mat Powell, Paul Turland, Lewis Saunders, Theo Ellis, Jack O’Reilly, Dan Falvey and Tom Gray pulled together with grit, determination, and plenty of laughter along the way.
Thanks to the generosity of colleagues, friends, and family, we raised an incredible £1,291, contributing to the event’s outstanding fundraising total of nearly £55,000 – money that will change the lives of children and young people supported by the chosen charities.
The atmosphere on the day was electric, with plenty of cheering from the riverside as Fargo families and colleagues turned out to support the team. The event truly captured the best of teamwork, community spirit, and determination (plus a few aching muscles the next morning).
A huge congratulations to the overall winners FTC, with Harwich Haven Port Authority and GB Railfreight taking second and third place – a special thanks to Cory Brothers for sponsoring such a brilliant event.
With so much packed into one day, we’re already looking forward to next year’s challenge. Until then, a massive well done to Team Far-row and everyone who supported them – proof once again that at Fargo, it’s not just about logistics, it’s about pulling together and making a difference.
